Who is Steven King?

Steven C. King was born in Cape Coral on October 25, 1962. He went to Catawba Valley Community College twenty three years ago for an A. A. degree in recreation ground management. He then operated his own business for eleven years in Cape Coral. He later moved to Lake City with his wife Sherry, kids Hillary, Stephanie, and Dustin. He has been a resident for six and a half years. He is the announcer for the University of Florida Gators track and field, tennis, swim and diving teams .He then developed the courses and built the irrigation lab for Lake City Community College. He is currently teaching classes here.

 He knew he wanted to be in irrigation when he got out of school and his brothers had their own landscaping business. They were asked to install irrigation systems and they didn't know how to so they asked Mr. King if he knew how. He said yes. The next day, his brother, Ken, and him installed a sprinkler system. From there on, he knew this is what he wanted to do. He's been involved ever since. Mr. King just recently passed the Certified Irrigation Contractors exam-this is one of the toughest tests in the industry.
